Dr Meagan Wilson
Dr Meagan Wilson holds a PhD in anthropology and an Honours degree in psychology (Wellbeing/Positive Psychology).
Her PhD was an ethnography conducted in Northern Thailand, which explored emotional suffering among migrant women from Burma. Her doctoral work considered how religious, social, and political factors impacted migrant women’s mental health and the ways in which religious (Buddhist) beliefs supported migrant women to survive.
Meagan held teaching positions in public health (Monash University) and complementary medicine (Endeavour College of Natural Health) settings prior to joining Nan Tien Institute. Meagan provides a compassionate and supportive space for students to learn and grow. She honours a reflective approach and engages contemplative methods in the classroom.
Meagan also currently works as a Wellbeing Facilitator, providing mental health support for clients living with schizophrenia. She is a meditation teacher and facilitates a 12-week meditation program in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
