SEXUAL ASSAULT – occurs when a person is forced, coerced or tricked into sexual acts against their will or without their consent. Sexual assault is a crime and is not the victim’s fault. It includes rape, indecent assault, any sexual contact with a child, forcing someone to witness a sex act, sexual act of touching that occurs after consent has been withdrawn.

CONSENT – in the context of sexual activity, it is free and voluntary agreement to engage in the specific sexual activity. Consent can be withdrawn at any time. The absence of “no” does not mean “yes”.

For more information, please consult NTI’s Prevention of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Policy via the Student Policy Library on NTI website: www.nantien.edu.au/current-students.
