Lara Ryan
Lara Ryan is a senior lecturer in Nutrition, Biochemistry, Health and Wellbeing and Natural Medicine. Lara completed her diploma in nutrition and naturopathic medicine with Endeavour College of Natural Therapies, followed by a Bachelor of Health Science in Nutrition and Complimentary Medicine at Charles Sturt University and went on to graduate with a master’s in international public health at The University of Sydney.
Lara is an accredited Nutritionist and Naturopath with the Australian Integrated Medicine Association (AIMA) , The Australian College of Nutrition and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM), The Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia (NHAA). Lara is also a member of The Network of Researchers in the Public Health of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NorphCAM) which is the first international collaborative network dedicated to promoting and advancing the public health and health services research of traditional, complementary and alternative medicine and integrative health care.
Lara has recently been the senior lecturer in nutrition at Endeavour College of Natural Medicine. She currently teaches herbal therapeutics and provides clinical supervision to final year students at Nature Care College. She also teaches herbal medicine at Torrens University. Lara is a sessional lecturer at the Nan Tien Institute in Wollongong proudly engaging students in health and wellbeing subjects.
Lara is also in private practice where she works as a naturopath and somatic therapist providing support and guidance to patients recovering from complex chronic illnesses, nervous system dysregulation, anxiety, depression and adrenal depletion and those with compromised detoxification pathways and immune system
responsiveness.
In her role as a human being, Lara feels deeply about our need to understand and embody compassion and self-compassion. Lara writes regularly about her experiences working with chronic illness, grief, loss, trauma, self-compassion, hope and other matters of the heart that involve building resilience, strength and resolve to find our way back to joy.
