HBot: A Research Companion for Humanistic Buddhism
Hbot is a research assistant prototype designed to make the Humanistic and Engaged Buddhism Bibliography more searchable and interactive. Developed independently with the support of a private donor and in alignment with the Nan Tien Institute’s research goals, Hbot enables users to explore over 1,700 curated works through natural-language queries and intuitive chat-based search.
Humanistic and Engaged Buddhism Research Bibliography
This living bibliography brings together scholarly work from across the world on Humanistic, Engaged, and Applied Buddhism. With over 1,700 curated entries and growing, it reflects the diverse and evolving conversations shaping socially engaged Buddhist thought and practice today. Whether you’re tracing key thinkers, global movements, or local case studies, the bibliography invites you to explore how Buddhism is lived and applied across contexts. The full collection is also searchable via HBot and the NTI Visualiser.
NTI Visualiser: Exploring the Humanistic Buddhism Bibliography
The NTI Visualiser offers a dynamic interface for engaging with the Humanistic and Engaged Buddhism Bibliography. It allows users to visually explore the relationships between topics, traditions, authors, places. By mapping over 1,700 scholarly works chronologically and thematically, the Visualiser helps users trace the development of ideas, discover emerging trends, and contextualize works within their historical moment. Designed to support both discovery and insight, it transforms the bibliography into an interactive landscape of global Buddhist research.
MettāVerses
MettāVerses is a community-focused venture powered by unconditional loving-kindness (mettā). This venture is a response to the global challenges we face today, from climage change and pandemics to social inequality and mental health crises. The goal is to help both online and real-world communities to foster and enact loving-kindness.
NTI Ethos Project
The intention of this resource is to identify the pathways to integrate the Buddhist ethics positioning (called Buddhist Ethos), of NTI, into the Institute’s day to day life and operations. It can also be used as a framework for other organisations seeking to integrate Buddhist ethics into their workplaces and projects.
Mindful Check-In App
The Nan Tien Institute’s Humanistic Buddhism Centre designed this app especially for the busy lives we lead today and guides us through the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
